Lost in the Nighttime Ballet Session : North Carolina Dance Photography

FAE

At what age did you start dancing?
I started dance at the age of 4 not by choice but for the best sense I was terrible at any other sports.

How/why did you start dance?
I was started into dance to try to make friends and learn new skill to help me in the future like grace and how to hold yourself properly.

What have been your biggest struggles and triumphs throughout dance?
My biggest struggles has defiantly been battling back from knee surgery as well as having complete confidence in my dance my biggest triumphs defiantly getting back to dance for the first time since knee surgery learning new skills and actually becoming rounded at all genres of dance.

If you could dance along side any dancer who would it be?
Defiantly misty Copeland just to see all the technic she has learned in her career.

What does dance mean to you ?
Dance mean a family and space away from the stress of school and family. A way to realse all emotion and be able to let it all go with no judgement.

Why do you choose brii cher'ri photography to capture your passion &love of dance?

Because she's amazing and is different the other photographers who see dancers as classical forms that can only do the normal things where brii pushing the limits of my ability and make me learn to things for her new ideas and we do things I have never seen before.

NEW BOUDOIR SESSION: FT. How I found myself through photographing women naked.

As I photographed this session yesterday I realized how much boudoir has changed my life, changed me.
So many  people pick up cameras and call themselves photographers. & even scarier some of them dive right into the hard stuff like boudoir! Boudoir is so intimate, so emotional and so challenging. I have laughed , had fun and shed a few tears while shooting all of these amazing women. I have heard their stories, beautiful,, sad, heart wrenching, glorifying. From cancer survivors, to weight loss success, to Moms of 3, I am thankful and lucky to have met every single one of them and for them to have let me into their world, even if it was only for a day. They have enlightened me, freed my soul and opened my eyes to the beauty around me. not only what I see through my lens but what I see inside them after they tell me their stories. After I learn the story behind the beautiful face.
Most women don't see how beautiful they are, myself included, we are all always doubting our self and our confidence drops quite frequently with the way society treats us.  but when your daily job is to see the unique beauty in other women and make them see it too, you eventually start to see your own. You realise you are changing things for these women, you are liberating them in a way no one else can.
My super power isn't anything magically and magnificient but I like to think it is life changing, I like to think it is memorable & I like to think I am truly helping each woman who walks in my door, walk out stronger, fiercer & more themselves then they had been in years.

If I can change the lives of women, if I can make them see how truly beautiful they are, maybe I am slowly making a difference in the world too.
I can only hope.

The Holiday Season is in full Swing : The Burkett Family Session : Edenton NC

These guys gave me the wonderful delight of photographing their family photographs for Christmas! Elizabeth usually takes their photographs at home but their little one Kayley had different plans when she dropped the camera and broke her lens. So I was thrilled to photograph their sweet little family for their Christmas cards instead!
Kayley wanted to just play and explore & indulge and all of the Christmas spirit while in the studio it was adorable to see how instancing Christmas is to children!

Burkett is one of our newest officers' here in Edenton & he is doing absolutely amazing having the honour to photograph my fellow LEO families feels so good , Plus their uniforms look pretty  snazzy too!

Take a look at how absolutely adorable this little family is!
